The Patents of the Inventor, more often called Solov's Inventions or Set (as the items are so-named), is an item set that can be recovered during the Legends of Aranna storyline. This is a little three-piece set intended for combat mages, particularly wielders of fire. The pieces are obtained in specific locations in the campaign world and in random drops in multiplayer mode.

Item Locations[]

Solov's Ward
Jherkal's Crown jungle ruins, in a pot at the bottom of a deep, water-logged depression.
Solov's Bow
In a jail under Jherkal's transportation center; the area is preceded by an announcement that you are not authorized to go this way.
Solov's Spellbook
Demlock's Cut, in an urn hidden behind a waterfall very close to the NPC Bran Torath.

In multiplayer the containers for these items are modified to hold extremely high-quality, generic loot for your powergaming pleasure, rather than the set pieces.

History[]

The Hero of Arhok stumbled upon the pieces of this set while making a point of exterminating the Zaurask in Jherkal's Crown. One item, the Spellbook, had clearly been taken aboard the displacer platform out of the ruined city to Demlock's Cut, but had not gotten very far.

It can be assumed that Solov was a brainy Utraean inventor who lived in the city. His "Patents," so they are called, are all hand-held implements that massively increase the user's capacity for channeling the fire element. Indeed, the strength of the completed set and the unobtrusive equipment slots they use makes the assembly useful to a combat mage of virtually any level.

No documents about the life and work of Solov, nor any information about the circumstances under which he created the Patents, were ever found.
