The Lost Queen was the first Utraean experiment encountered by the player in the Legends of Aranna campaign. She was capable of spawning Mucosa, but aside from that, the only information on her is available through books and journals scattered about old Utraean strongholds.
History[]
According to the Account of Ashish, during the Utraean-Zaurask War, a prisoner was transported to what the humans of Ehb later identified as the "Halls of the Lost". Though the author had little knowledge of her crimes, the prisoner's name was Ashish, and that she was a warrior queen of some note.
Ashish was not brought to a conventional prison, but instead the greatest of the Utraean science facilities. From the experimental logs, it becomes clear that Ashish was subjected to a series of magical torments. These machines eventually began to mutate her, and at some point, spiders were implemented, as one journal references a "spider problem" being resolved.
In one journal, the author states that some of the scientists had been suddenly disappearing. While his superiors told him they left, he found that they departed without their belongings, and he suggests that they were fed to the "monster" that was the subject of his studies. Fearing he would be next, he abandoned the laboratory soon after completing his entry.
The last journal discovered belonged to the head of the project, describing that Ashish and the creatures spawned from her were meant to be soldiers in the war against the Zaurask. However, like Nosirrom, the Zaurask King, Ashish hates her creators. The author of this account then laments that the Utraeans, with all their pride, are doomed because all their creations ultimately rise against them.
By the time the player battles Ashish, the Lost Queen, it was clear that the beauty her captors once spoke of has been completely destroyed. Ashish has become a half-humanoid, half-arachnid monstrosity that spawns similar, but smaller creatures known as Mucosa. Unleashed by the Shadowjumper, Ashish planned to use her children in a war against the Utraeans as an ally of the Shadowjumper, but was killed by the player.

- In the Displacer Hub in Jherkal's Crown, you can find a brochure on the different locales the Displacers go to. One mentions Ashish, so her spider-like attributes were at some point a tourist attraction.
